How Revolving Door Code Compliance Increases the Safety of Your Building

A revolving door adds an element of prestige and class to a building. It's more than just a charming and stylish addition, though. When the one you install is in full revolving door code compliance, it adds an increased level of safety to your building. We are fully aware of these requirements at Door Automation, and we'll discuss them here.

When your building meets the revolving door code of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), it means visitors can safely and easily enter and exit the property as the Act takes into account the needs of individuals with a wide range of physical challenges and specialized equipment.

Units that are in revolving door code compliance need to have an inside diameter of at least six feet six inches and not more than ten feet tall. These specifications make them easy to access but not too large to operate smoothly. A swing door is required as an emergency exit within ten feet of the revolving door. They also need to have a stable and level base, and that means these entrances should be installed and serviced by trained professionals to meet the specific requirements of the ADA.
